I also found the commentary to be a bit over the top and most likely Democratic Party propaganda. Most of the thinking progressive and liberal writers and talk show hosts aren't giving Obama any near that much a pass. That said, I might also remind people here that during the election season I said the Republicans ran John McCain because they knew they wouldn't win, didn't want to and gave McCain his "last hurrah." They also added Palin to make the ticket even more unwinnable. Many here scoffed at the idea. Republicans didn't want to win because they realized the mess that had been made and that they could dump it on a Democrat and thought that they most likely could take back the administration in 4 years.
I've also said that Presidents are nothing more than late night car salesmen selling the "cars" or policies of their handlers. We had a nightmare 8 years with the Bush dictatorship and the people don't need continuation of any of those policies. Unfortunately Obama has failed to discontinue many of them. We'd like to know why? And unfortunately Obama seems to be firmly in the hands of Wall Street. Oh we do hope the government really does something about Goldman-Sachs but fear they'll get nothing more than a slap on the wrist when there should be a lot of frog marching going on. Liberals and progressives are supposed to be the brightest of people, people who think. But like any political movement critical thinking gets thrown aside with a rah-rah for the home team by those who prefer to be TB'ers. ditzyklanmail wrote: > This topic of loyalty, oh triumphant deserves a commercial break. : ) > > Ode to Vogon Poetry: > Twenty somethings in line to help finish the wars that were started > and > I guess must continue because one can only solve a war by continuing war. > I am sure the new health plan will be stabilized > with > terminally ill people and whatever property or bank accounts can be harvested > as they die or before they die, > maybe a strong push with the cheap poppies from Afghanistan. > The genetically modified foods must have good sources of nutrition. > The economy is growing strong as I see people bundling up in homes, > more > than one family or isolated children from the generation teaching their grown > kids to stand on their own two feet as they are taken in by more caring > families, parents turning their back to continue the > lifestyle > they are used to living, because they deserve it and worked hard to get it. > Anti-depressants > prescribed > to help the kids adjust...oh heck, mommies and daddies too.
