Yep. Christianity today is a very 'carrot and stick' operation. All salvation is outside the self. Probably the world's largest cult. The thing I found very liberating when I first learned TM is that unlike what I had been taught through Christian religion, I didn't have to die in order to transcend. On the other hand as a boy I did get into the pageantry and ritual of the Episcopal church.
