Oh, please, no. I just finished Pillars, and I kept wishing C.J. Sansom, author of the Matthew Shardlake novels I posted about here awhile back, could have written it. What a contrast! Such great material, and such a pedestrian treatment by Follett. Maybe if I hadn't read the Sansom novels first, I wouldn't have been so disappointed.
