Alex, I recently read a book called "Crossing the Gobi."  I think I mentioned
this before?  It's essentially a journal of a wife/husband team (65 and 70
years, respectively) that crossed the Gobi lengthwise (EW) along the southern
border.  The interactions of this couple with the nomads and their diet of
curdled horse milk, etc. was one of the more humorous aspects of the book.
It's an interesting read.

So, it's all about the Raja of Mongolia, where they eat nothing but meat and
dairy. As it happens, His Majesty is aware of FFL, and for some very odd
reason, he was not inspired by its endless bickering.
