Others have claimed that Shantayanda was NOT a cook, but whatever.

As I said, making the cook the spiritual leader is traditional in 
some religions, but not the Brahmin-dominated Hindus. Of COURSE this 
caused massive protesting in some quarters. A cook???!!!?
