When I taught at MSAE the students would begin the day with 10 minutes of 
reading the Vedic scriptures in sanskrit and in unison. I assume they're still 
doing it, as well as many others who have learned to read sanskrit. It's very 
powerful hearing those sounds (like when one hears the pundits chant the 
scriptures) and I understand that it's even more powerful to be able to speak 
those sounds.
