Just an intution. Was the MB designed for the CPU? It was designed for all AMD 939 socketst processors -- which are their latest and fastest desktop cpus. It was not designed specifically for a dual core CPU. I am not aware of any 939 socket MB that is specifically designed for dual core. Are you aware of such? If not, why are you bringing it up -- if its not an option. But thus far on my benchmark, I am getting a 76% performance boost over the single core CPU. Which is what I expected. Its not 100% due to some extra management overhead and software sub-optimized for dual core -- and not at all for 64 bit. So I don't think I am experinceing a bottleneck on memory. With single core I was only using half of my 2 Gigs of Ram. With the new CPU I am using less memory, apparently less needs to be held in memory as the CPUs operate essential at 2x over prior cpu. ------------------------ Yahoo!
