I just saw the video on the news. He didn't sound or look to me like the mischievous boy you describe. He didn't look or sound brave, either. (It's hard to say whether he was genuinely regretful, though; we've never seen that from him before, so we don't know what it looks like!) I was further impressed by his repeated refusal to say that we could be confident about our preparedness for another disaster, natural or manmade. This also goes very much against the grain of his previous relentless and entirely unrealistic optimism on many other topics. And it's especially noteworthy given his previous heavy reliance on his purported ability to "keep America safe" as the primary selling point of his administration. I think that uncertainty may be even more significant than the acceptance of responsibility. It's way too early to relax our skepticism, though. ------------------------ Yahoo!
