Akasha: OK. Now I get you. Its a beautiful argument. US dancers, in dern clubs, are exploited because less than half of congress are not female. Ok I am indeed following you now! Vaj; No, it does not appear you are following me. Male dominance and control are key elements in the worldwide exploitation of women. Akasha: And thus women in modern exotic dance clubs are exploited? I still don't see the link. Its a logical fallacy. .. Vaj: No, no, no. This is not trying to create a causal link between percentages of women in congress and exploitation in strip clubs--it's talking about the pervasiveness of inequality in a very patriarchal culture. Akasha: And how does this directly link to observed, not hypothetical, exploitation in exotic dance clubs? Be specific. Vaj: I've observed these trends over my life. One (hopefully) has some awareness of what's going on around them--and some sensitivity as well as some power of discrimination. What I am supposed to do, look up a lifetime of observations and articles for your edification? Do your own research, I'm not here to do it for you! --------------- Akasha: Nice retreat Vaj. Since your time is so precious, why make such wild assed claims with no logical or factual connection in the first place if you have no substance to back them up. Vaj: I suspect you would still frequent these clubs anyway, so why should bother wasting my precious time? Akasha: I don't frequent them. Very rarely. I am just stating that the ones I have bben to are not the dens of inequity that you conjur up in your mind. You are the one who stated that you had all the empiridcal observations. Sounds like you are a lot more frequent than me. Is it kind of a struggle going in, knowing how eveil you think they are? ------------------------ Yahoo!
