What beautiful masonry, John, all those archways and it looks as if no mortar
was used at least in some of the photos. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Subject: [FairfieldLife] Do You Know the Way to Chico, CA?

That's right. I was there last Saturday to get some peace and quiet. While
there I took a tour of the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company. It was delightful
and I got to taste all of the beers they produced for free.

Later in the evening, I ate a wonderful Basque restaurant in town. If you
haven't been in one, you guys should try this place out.

Then, on Sunday, I visited a Cistercian Monastery at Vina, CA which is nearby
Chico, CA. Yes, I did talk to one monk there for direction to their wine
tasting room. The tasting room was staffed with women. One lady served us a
taste of their wines and all for free. I later bought three bottles and a
sweatshirt with an emblem of the monastery, New Clairvaux Abbey.

One advice: make sure your gas tank is full when you get to the abbey since
there are no gas station in town.
