I think the bridge is still only $3 when it is not rush hour. I don't know if they've done away with all the tool booths as they want people to use FastTrack which is a little thing you put on your windshield. I don't use bridges enough to have it so for people like me they take a picture of your license plate and send a bill. As Doc and I have mentioned the SF Bay Area has piss poor mass transit so a lot of people drive to work.

As for politics my purpose on bringing these issues up is not to scare people (meditators aren't supposed to scare easily anyway) but inform and see if folks want to discuss the issues. We're all adults and supposed to have some influence on policy.

noozguru, $6 toll bridge! The Chesapeake Bay Bridge is the only toll bridge I've experienced and at that time was like $2.50. Anyway, thanks for all the interesting and useful ideas you post here. I think you're one of the people who helps me have an intelligent take on politics and current events and what to get prepared for. I must say though, I do love a beautifully constructed bridge.

So the construction must be the pregnancy and the opening the birth? I generally avoid going into San Francisco which I call "no parking" though did drive over there March last year.

The state's transportation head blasted the Bay Area politicians for delaying the project. San Francisco can be a very Willy Nilly place literally as Willy Brown aided in the delay (and they want to name the bridge after him!) People wanted the bridge fixed and didn't care so much about the design but the politician cluster fuck argued for a landmark which caused it to be the most expensive bridge in the world. If California goes bankrupt (which it nearly is) the Chinese will probably buy the new bridge and charge a $25 toll (it's $6 rush hour now).

ah ha! noozguru, I wonder what that earlier opening did to the bridge's jyotish chart!

No not the TV show though I was watching my recording last night of "The
Dome" on my DVR when after one set of commercials instead of returning
to the series full screen if moved to the upper right corner and as the
local CBS station put up a "Breaking News" alert showing cars crossing
the new span of the Bay Bridge.

The bridge was scheduled to reopen at 5 AM this morning but they
actually were able to get it ready in time to open it last night. Note
this is the most expensive bridge ever built and about 10 years late
mainly due to local narcissistic politicians squabbling over what it
should be.
