If you read the document that Pope Francis wrote, there is none of the exclusionary language that you refer to, in it. He specifically warns against that, and many other ways to become falsely pious. He refers to capitalism, the monetization of anything and everything, as dehumanizing. I agree -
As a great example of the failure of "pissing down economics", as I call it, there is an unbelievable amount of wealth where I live, in the SF Bay Area - real estate prices are completely crazy, as one result.
