noozguru and John, it's just that football got so scientific or mechanized or 
something. It's all stats and strategies and doesn't look like any fun anymore. 
If all that *progress* decreased the number of injuries, that would be great. 
But I'm not sure that it has.

Which shows you how low this country has sunk.  It's a wonder we
      haven't been mandated to watch it.  Years ago it was one of my
      favorite days to catch a movie but last time I tried that there
      were plenty of other folks doing the same thing so it was no
      longer an advantage.

Regardless of whether you feel that Alex Jones is a nutter or not
      he has a pretty good video report on who the real winners of the
      Super Bowl are.  And it is certainly not a Libertarian take nor a
      conservative Republican take on it either.
