Yay. I wish we could make this a *rule*: Don't make a higher-order comment about a lower-order statement UNLESS you make it explicit that you are doing so and explain what point you want to make thereby. I assume Lawson has a reason for pointing to no-self here, but it would be a lot more helpful if he explained it. Too often folks use higher-order comments as a way to avoid addressing a lower-order statement, and all it does is introduce confusion and short-circuit the discussion. If you have a *reason* for short-circuiting the discussion in this way, fine, there are occasions when it's appropriate, IMHO. But *make a case for doing it*.
