there. The resolution of retina displays is based on the device size
and how close you are likely to be when viewing the screen. The
smaller displays, such as an iPhone, have a higher pixel density
because they are likely to be viewed at a much closer distance than a
large computer monitor. When you go to a movie projected with a 4K
projector, and the screen is 20 feet tall, the pixel density of the
image is about 4 to 5 pixels per inch. But you are watching it from
maybe 50 feet away.
I use a PC with Windows 7, an Android tablet, and an inexpensive
no-contract basic cell phone when I travel. I am working to get a new
laptop, but medical bills are taking precedence at the moment.
The resolution you actually need depends on the kind of work you are
doing, and how good your eyes are, glasses or not.

use Aldus PageMaker when I lived in CA. Rita used a Mac when she worked
as a AutoCad designer in San Diego. What we need now is speed - a friend
of ours got a degree in Sequential Graphics from the local community
college and he showed us how important speed is in the rendering phase.
The problem is the high price of the Apple products - the rent is too
damn high!

in West Des Moines. WRT Retina Displays, I have a 2nd gen iPad and a
3rd gen iPad with the Retina Display, and frankly, I can't tell the
difference.
