According to Katie Couric's Yahoo blog, the OPEC countries have met to address the declining price of oil. They supposedly have decided to let the world demand of oil determine the price of oil. They have decided to continue producing oil as usual.
But they are betting that, if the price of oil keeps going down, it would cripple the American oil producers here in the US. As of now, the American oil producers have been able to harvest the oil shale in the USA and use alternative oil extraction, such as fracking, to increase the oil production in the US. If the prices go down, some of these producers will have to stop production because of increasing costs. Thus, the OPEC countries are hoping that they can outlast the American producers and eventually take control of the world production of oil, which they've done in the past. ---In [email protected], <noozguru@...> wrote : Global economics are in a critical phase. He just can't send a few airplanes to attack a city in Europe. It would not be enough to conquer an entire country, albeit the entire western Europe. He would have to make a very robust plan to attack and occupy western Europe. When he does, western would already know his intentions and would be waiting for the demise of his troops along the way. There is also the possibility that missiles armed with atomic bombs will be sent to Moscow by the USA and other NATO member states.
