I should have said "some folks." Many people here *do* take a great deal of care in how they use language. But a lot of the unproductive disagreements and snarls we get into, in my observation, are a function of sloppiness on the part of the rest. (And I'm not referring to grammar or spelling or sentence construction, by the way.
