Or slap the pretentious label "Maharishi" on themselves. Good question.

Sw. Rama was in some ways a perv, but he also did a lot of good--
hospitals for the poor, introduced many directly to samadhi through
his powers and so on. He's yet another bizarre case. I had sent him a
lengthy letter on Swami Brahmananda Sarasvati years ago--who had
initiated him into his own practice Sri Vidya in person, outside his
cave. The response to the letter was one night I was sitting in my
home, then on Juniata River. This luminescent sphere with Sw, R. in
it appears and immediately scans over all of my subtle body. After
that I had no question he could not only enter other's bodies, but he
also was Sri Vidya adept. Sw. R. could pierce the innermost bindu of
the Sri Chakra in just a few minutes. Incredible really.

I later talked to someone at the Himalayan Institute and shared my
experience. She laughed and said 'oh yeah, a lot of people've had
that experience.'
