Please note, Wages in Âmerica are artificially high, much higher than the Global average wages.  Wages has to come down if the Âmerican economy wants to compete with the rest of the world.

China subsidises it's Manufacturing sector heavily.  This is why Chinese hardware goods are artificially low.  This is why even Indian goods are not able to compete with Chinese goods.

Something fishy is happening in China.  Many experts say it is just not economicaly possible to produce goods at such low prices.!!

General Motors, on the verge of bankruptcy

Delphi, the biggest auto parts supplier in the United States, aims to
force a wage reduction of 66% in the next collective bargaining
agreement. It intends to go from the current 27 dollars an hour to 9.50 dollars. In addition it demands cutbacks in the pension and health plans.

The bosses argues that it needs to produce this historic reduction in
the wages of its workers in order to be able "to compete" with its own plants installed abroad: two thirds of Delphi's employees live outside of the United States. The Mexican workers of the company receive 7 dollars an hour; those of China, 3 (Clarín, 30/10).

Delphi's "example" is spreading all over the country: after having
flexibilized the working conditions and wages of millions of unskilled workers in the service sectors and non-unionized companies,
big capital is now getting ready to mount a monumental attack on what
the bosses media describe as an "aristocracy": the more concentrated
and organized sector of the industrial proletariat of the big
corporations. Recently, the mechanics of Northwest airlines were
themselves forced to accept a wage reduction of 26%.

After accumulating mountains of losses, Delphi has filed for
bankruptcy protection. It intends to save itself by crushing its workers. Nevertheless, according to its own president, Miller, "our  problem is not the most urgent; GM's is more serious ". The man knows what he is talking about: until not long ago Delphi was a subsidiary of General Motors.
