Yeah, they said that about the French, too, when they released a car called the Logan. It's a brand-new five-passenger automobile, favorably reviewed by all the automotive press, that sells for about 5000 Euros new. It has Detroit and other world carmakers running scared, because they can't even come *close* to offer- ing a car with similar features at a similar price. They can't get close to the Logan's price right now, try as they might. No magic involved -- just buy a defunct manufacturing facility in Romania and then engineer from the ground up a new car that costs the least amount possible to manufacture while providing a basic level of reliable transportation, safety, and comfort. Focus on the low end of the automotive market instead of the high end. China may *well* subsidize its workers to undercut the prices of other countries, but that's not the only way that products can be offered at a lower price than a competitor's. Occasionally, the use of basic intelli- gence can go a lot further than protectionism and subsidies. ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Dying to be thin?
