Sanskrit smR is the root e.g. to remember:

smR, smarati, -te , pp. {smRta} (q.v.) remember (gen. or acc.); [[-,]]
recollect, call to mind; hand down, record, declare, teach

If we move the initial s to the end, it becomes to forget

mRS, mRSyate ({-ti}) not heed, forget, suffer, bear, put up with

(Because of internal sandhi, the s-sound after an r-sound [here the vocalic R]
is obligatorily changed from dental to retroflex: s -> S)
