As I said earlier, Trump has been historically liberal and thinks like a liberal. Liberals think conservatives want to punish women for their abortions. They don't. Trump thought he was pandering to conservatives when he answered Chris Mathew's hypothetical. He thought he would score points with conservatives against abortion and also show he was for law and order. Well, it backfired.
