I posted an answer to this yesterday but it hasn't yet shown up.I went to a Rodney Howard Brown event once several years ago. He is doing some kind of Shaktipat, as we would call it. He touched me on my chest and I immediately felt bliss bubbling up in my solar plexus region, near the heart. He came back to me several times and each time he touched, the bliss became increasingly more intense. It was the same experience of bliss that I have had in meditation. a bubbling up like a fountain of intense pure happiness and inwardly giggling. ,His sermons usually begin with readings from the Book of Acts. It usually starts out quiet and as he goes on, people begin to get restless, get up and move about and then talking and giggling. The whole atmosphere gets charged with bliss. At some point he starts walking among the people and touches them and the whole thing becomes very intense. It actually sounds like what people used to go through on some of the older Sidhi courses. Some will roar like a lion or laugh uncontrollably. What you see is what the Book of Acts describes when the disciples first gathered in the upper room in Jerusalem and were baptized with the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. A crowd gathered outside the room, hearing the commotion, and accused the disciples of being drunk. Jesus once asked a Sumarian woman who had had a hard life to draw him a drink from a well. He then proceeded to tell her everything about her life that no stranger could ever know. He then told her that if she were to drink from his well that she would never thirst again. He was describing the well of pure consciousness within and the bubbling bliss it brings that would wipe away her sorrows. Rodney Howard Brown has the gift of Shaktipat and is able to transfer that experience to others. I directly experienced it. From: "awoelflebater@... Watch it and you'll laugh! Could be a specific manifestation of the Kundalini, which has many variants in diverse religious and practices. I'm not sure what it's all about but laughing is fun. Is it religious experience? Probably not. It is release? Sure. Would I like to see what it feels like if the guy touched me? Sure. Is it something to get tied up in knots about? Probably not. Let them laugh their guts out.
