Yeah, It'd *nice * to see the actual shooting(tongue in cheek). But she does
give a real clear picture of the events. You can bet if there is any trial of
the officer, that this video will be used as evidence. She does repeat herself
that he was reaching for his wallet when he told the cop he had a gun. I feel
bad for everybody involved.I do believe the cop over reacted or panicked.

The problem is that the video begins after he was shot. So we do not know
for sure what the sequence of words/events was. The girlfriend's account
appears to connect his statement that he had a weapon with his reaching for his
wallet, but who knows what the actual sequence was, re his words/actions and
the orders of the cop?

Your hypothesis that had he not been carrying a gun , he would still be alive,
maybe, but not necessarily so to BLM.
If you watch the video it's pretty clear that he reached for his wallet or ID
while telling the cop that he has a gun. Yeah, it sounds insane but it's pretty
clear from the videos that I've seen. One problem here is that marijuana was
also found in the car. No big deal but might be partially responsible for his
*decision making*, reaching for an ID while announcing he has a gun.As I said,
not a smart move.
In states that have open or concealed carry laws, the moment you are
approached by a cop, it is your responsibility to *first* announce to the
officer that you have a license to carry and that you are carrying a weapon. At
that point, the cop is aware of your weapon ( no surprises )and will give
further instruction on how he intends to proceed. Usually they ask "where is
your weapon"? They may want to disarm you before doing anything else, just for
safety sake.

My guess is that had the guy in Minnesota (not Wisconsin) not been carrying a
gun he would still be alive. More guns do not make people safer. When he told
the cop he carried a gun, that spooked the cop, who went on super-alert and
overreacted. (I have read or seen nothing that says he said "I have a gun"
while reaching for his wallet. It doesn't sound like something any sane person
would say and do at the same time in the presence of a cop.)

Baton Rouge is a different story. The guy had threatened a store owner with a
gun earlier or may have just shown the store owner his gun. Police were aware
he may be armed. They were in a position to taser the guy if they felt
threatened. As I recall, the guy resisted arrest and a take down ensued.They
were way too quick to shoot this guy from what I've seen so far. The police
pulled a gun from his pocket which they undoubtedly will say he was reaching
for. I don't think his shooting was justified either.
