Two Fairfield schools have been named two of the top college prep schools in 
the state.
Maharishi School and Fairfield High School were recognized by Niche.com 
<http://niche.com/> as the number 3 and number 20 ranked schools, respectively 
in Iowa.
FHS has a graduation rate of 87 percent with an average SAT score at 1370, 
while Maharishi graduates 90 percent of their students to a four-year 
university and has an average SAT score at 1340.
Niche calls Fairfield High School an above average, B+ public school, with a 
student-Teacher ratio of 14 to 1. According to state test scores, 72% of 
students are at least proficient in math and 67% in reading.
Maharishi School earned an A+ in academics, an A in College prep and A minuses 
in diversity and clubs and activities, ranking second in the state regarding 
diversity at the High School, second as the best private K through 12 school in 
the state and third as the best private high school in Iowa.
