The big lie behind our stats here is that once someone exhausts
their unemployment benefits (or is ineligible for them, as is the
entire contract workforce), and remains unemployed, they are no
longer counted as part of the labor force.
So, if unemployment is NOT 4.9% as reported yesterday, what is it? What are all these unemployed people doing to support themselves and their families if they have exhausted their benefits? Is this only a republican "trick" or do democrats tell the same lie?
