This is the phrase someone always used to order us to do something in the guise of a polite request...from our meeting in La Antilla to our wedding in Fairfiled and now 26 years later, we still say to each other "it would be good if..." when we think someone is trying to make us do their bidding by pretending it is for our own benefit...
