Wow. A Hindu has a low opinion of Muslims. Who'd
a thunk it?

What really impresses me are how many layers of
cattiness -- heck, outright bitchiness -- are captured
in this bit of apocrypha. There's the assumption that
Muslims are always angry. There's the put-down that
this is their first time as humans. There's the non
sequitur that having a human body for the first time
would engender anger. As anecdotes go, this one
really packs a lot into a few lines! It's a work of art
on its own.

I'll repeat something I've posted here before. A friend
of mine is a Presbyterian minister who's made a career
of talking to people of other religions. He has organized
summits of the world's religions. (See www.cpwr.org.)
He has stated that if he had to entrust the peace of the
world in any two religions, it would be Buddhism or
Islam. This, from a Christian pastor. Kind of interesting.
