I don't know of a key phrase, but there are traditions that demand a few days of observances by relatives and friends. For example, Jews sit shiva for seven days. Anthroposophists -- followers of the teachings of Rudolf Steiner -- sit with the body for three days reading spiritual literature around the clock. When an Anthropop neighbor died a few years ago, his body lay in a homemade coffin on dry ice in the living room attended by readers for 72 hours straight. The rationale, I believe, is that the etheric (or is it astral?) body hangs around for a few days after the physical body expires. Even in the most conventional funerals I've attended, there's a sense of releasing the person from any earthly bond at the end of the service. ------------------------ Yahoo!
