I never use the term 'master,' so it wouldn't come up. If I were trying to come up with a definition for what I'd consider a happening spiritual teacher, it would involve one who was capable of teaching via direct transmission. That is, being able to give every student the subjective experience of every state of conscious- ness he talked about and teach any technique he knew, all without a word.
