There are too many eyewitness accounts of the plane
striking the Pentagon for this theory to be credible.
There's also been a great deal of expert debunking of
the Thierry book (which is what the article at the link
is about).

I have my own conspiracy theory about the conspiracy
theories: I think some who are in a position to know
all the details of 9/11 find it in their interest to
encourage theories like Thierry's, including by
promulgating disinformation, because it sends the
conspiracy theorists on wild goose chases *away* from
the real story, whatever it is.

Information that would disprove the wilder conspiracy
theories isn't being released because these people
don't *want* the theories disproved.  The more real
information is available, the more likely it is that
the various sleuths will be able to reconstruct the
true picture.
