The one immutable constant in ME politics for the last 25 years have
been Iran's die-hard attitude.

If this has been encouraged by anything, it is primarily American
leniency - at some distance followed by Soviet/Russian meddling and
European stupidity.

What goes around comes around: in a few months the US will have to do
what it should have done in 1980, openly equating the Iranian clergy
with the WWII Nazi and treat them and the conutry they operate them
accordingly.

Failure to do this risks pushing the whole world into a state of civil
war, as Iranian influenced/controlled islamic ex-pats in different
countries turns all of the West into their Middle East.

Unless the Admin of the Universe decides to stop this process (perhaps
by taking the next Iranian Earthquake to the next level) - there
simple isn't two way about this.

With this reasoning I think Bush could very well be the one to use bunker buster nukes on Iranian targets since he isn't running for re-election and doesn't really care about what anybody thinks of him, he'll let history be his judge attitude. I think it will be a last resort move though and will be done in his administration. I certainly can't imagine the world with Iranians having nukes and the very thought that there ever could have been a nuclear race between Iran and Iraq is absolutely horrifying. Some times it takes a thorn to remove a thorn.
