If your experience in electronics goes back a few decades you'll realize that is much lower than older high impedance mics which were usually anything from 20K to 50K. And higher than the professional balanced input 200-250 ohm low impedance. I find that if they line output of a device doesn't work with the line-in it will with the mic in but you have to attenuate the level a bit (usually in the software).
Professional sound cards accommodate the balanced line in thought that is usually handled by the mixing board. My card takes the line in from my mixing board. But I use a PC as I had too much invested in software to switch ships. Nowadays you can even get the DigiDesign stuff for the PC. ------------------------ Yahoo!
