And they are a *lot* better than they used
to be.  If you had bad experiences with them
before, try 'em now.  Get good ones, though.
The ones I got are called MaxLite, 25 Watts
(equivalent to 100 Watts incandescent), on
special for about $4 each ($23 for a six-pack)
at LampsUSA.com--not sure they're still on
sale, though.

There's even a compact fluorescent that's
supposed to oxidize odors in the room, called
Fresh2.  I was intrigued--I looked at the Fresh2
Web site, and it sounded pretty good.  I've
ordered a couple but haven't gotten them yet.

Kills two birds with one stone, as it were,
because they're beginning to think air fresheners
are bad for your lungs....
