I grew up in NYC, lived there until just a few years ago,
and *I* never heard anyone say it.  I *have* seen it in
print (electronic or otherwise), but always in an extremely
hostile context.

Yup.  I've used it exactly once in my life, on this
very forum (its abbreviation, actually).  I was
*exceedingly* pissed at the person I said it to, and
I meant it to be understood as the ultimate in verbal
hostility.
