I'll have to wait until it comes out.
I am just incredulous at the Rovian tactic of portraying Bush as the defender of the homeland when 911 happened on his watch. All things being equal, Bush thinks he is right. And it is his right to feel that way. I just think his strategy in doing what he believes in is flawed. I don't think his Iraq strategy was well thought out. It was a rash decision. Truly shows me that the President does carry out the will of the people. And I hope the will of the people has changed- to recognize that the awesome force that weapons have today escalates any use of force very quickly, beyond what we as humans can handle. Current weapons technology acts as a huge multiplier of killing force, very, very quickly. Conflicts escalate at lightning speed, with immense suffering inflicted from one side on the other in seconds. And the world is awash with weapons. $1,035,000,000,000 was spent on weapons globally for 2004. The US share is 47%. This swift and deadly application of modern weapons technology then spawns further problems, also beyond human control, which makes our entire connected world and it's geopolitical equilibrium less and less stable. So anything in that direction, of using our awesome weapons arsenals, should be discouraged as absolutely a last resort. I don't believe this was the case with the wars we started after 911. Not really an evil act when it happened. As they say, "Looked good on paper...". This should be the lesson of 911-- that it is no longer feasible to use weapons to settle a country to country conflict. And the US as the last superpower on earth has a huge responsibility to lead the way to a more peaceful world, or suffer a chaotic, destructive world. I hope that is what the program reflects.
