He has a one-hour news program on the cable channel MSNBC, of which about a third to a half is pure fluff, and the rest very hard-hitting journalism. I believe the program (called "Countdown") is MSNBC's highest- rated prime-time program (but that's not saying much). He has a blog on MSNBC's Web site: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6210240 He was originally a sportscaster (and still has a show a couple of times a week on ESPN, I think). Then he had a news show during the Lewinsky mess but quit in disgust at having to do all Lewinsky, all the time. Went back to sportscasting, then eventually got the "Countdown" show, which started out as a primarily humorous news program (he's a very witty chap) and slowly morphed into a more serious show, and lately into one of the very few programs to be consistently sharply critical of the Bush administration. He's only recently started doing these commentaries. The first one made a huge splash among progressives, and he's been doing them regularly ever since. Most of the transcripts are linked to from his blog page. The show is on weeknights at 8 p.m. EST and is rebroadcast at midnight.
