Er, "without question" wasn't part of either formulation. It's entirely possible to want to do something someone has requested that you do, for any number of reasons, and after extensive questioning. What Barry seems to be suggesting is that you should never want to do anything someone has requested that you do. Questioning such a request, according to Barry, should *always* result in your deciding you don't want to do whatever it is.
