Just to add, he originally broke the Monica Lewinsky story and is enormously influential, a right-winger who is utterly without scruples. A lot of the time he posts sensationally scandalous gossip that has no basis in fact, but he also gets rather amazing scoops. If you're a journalist, you can't afford not to check his site first thing every morning. He's become an institution that nobody likes very much but who can't be ignored.
