Reminds me of the old chestnut (stop me if you've
heard it!) about the seeker who travels far and wide,
all over the globe, to find the one true master who
can tell him the secret of life.

After many years of disappointments, great struggle,
and adversity, he finally finds the master meditating
in a cave in the Himalayas. Battered and bedraggled
but grateful beyond measure, he throws himself at the
master's feet.

"O Holy One, I have only a few years left on this
earth. But now that I've found you, with the benefit
of your infinite knowledge, I can live those years
in peace and fulfillment.

"Tell me, Master, the answer to my burning question:
What is the secret of life?"

He holds his breath waiting for the answer. The
master is silent for a long time, eyes closed, his
expression ecstatic. Then he murmurs softly,
"Life...is a fountain."

The man leaps up, furious. "What? I've spent my
entire damn life looking for you, traveled thousands
of miles, given up all my possessions, so I could
learn from you the secret of life, and all you can
tell me is 'Life is a fountain'??" That's nonsense!"

The master opens his eyes, bewildered. "You mean,
life *isn't* a fountain?"
