Probably because they only had to work two hour days to support 
themselves.  You probably could have bought a house there with what you 
had in your wallet.

Americans are always programmed to want more to keep the bucks rolling 
in to the oligarchy.  More food, bigger cars, bigger houses, more credit 
and credit cards.  It's crazy.
