Actually, what I advocate -- and I think MDixon concurs -- is a system of human organisation that makes it easiest for the poor to take themselves out of poverty...and that system I refer to is a free market economy within a democratic framework that, yes, does have a social-support element that provides the basic necessities of life supported by government programs that supplies a safety net to all within a nation. In other words, the US of A. And, yes, I believe other countries around the world who desire to bring their poor out of their situation should aspire to have a system like the US.
