Fred Travis says that the Budddhist one shows a lot of effort in the barin, but that the TM one shows effortlessness, and he stated that he thought that that was the important point about TM. It is easy, and very immediate? I am not saying he must be right, just relaying what I heard him say in a lecture on the TM and Buddhist studies.
