John Holmes wasn't in "Boogie Nights". "Boogie Nights" was fictional. "Wonderland" -- a really excellent film that did hardly any business and is less well-known than the equally excellent "Boogie Nights" -- is a true story based upon an actual murder and drug dealing that Holmes was involved in.
