Except when they focus on personal attacks and put downs. In contrast to the always welcome thoughtful criticisms (or applaudation) of ideas and posts. I think the FFL guidelines are good: "This group has long maintained a thoughtful and considerate tone. Please refrain from personal attacks, insults and excessive venting. 'Speak the truth that is sweet'" Everyone has insights that are a contrbution to the whole. But sadly, the whole is greatly diminished, IMO, when people focus on character attacks. And put downs. Cheap thrills. Because they are attacking a person. And such attacks often explode into large flame-wars, ego wars, which becomes the sludge dampening FFL's vitality. Hopefully, as so-called spiritual group can move beyond such play ground antics.
