Sure, but a preacher may pick up some details from
fundamentalist sources (not within the perspective
of the religion) to scare the flock with. There's
a whole genre of books written by Christian converts,
for instance, detailing the horrors of their previous
religions from which they were rescued by Jesus.

I have a small collection of these; I find them
absolutely fascinating. One of them, by a former
Hindu, was sent me by a fundie Christian woman I'd
encountered on a religion forum some years ago
after I mentioned I did TM. She enclosed the most
sincere, loving, caring, heartfelt letter. I felt
terrible about disappointing her. She'd really
put her soul into it, bless her.
