The guy sounds really frustrated to me, like he is thinking he is
doing everything "right", and still life continues, unchanged. No
magic bullet with the YF and Dome. No winning the enlightenment
sweepstakes. I think it is the hardest transition for a seeker to
make, from the ideas and beliefs of what is "right" according to
their spiritual tradition, while still continuing with a program
that continues to clear the intellect and heart, to find the way
Home. Everything must be sacrificed in the process, when the
tendency at that stage is to hold on for dear life. The technique
for clearing the intellect and heart, whatever it may be, is
continuing to show the seeker more clearly what directions to take,
what to do, easily, and yet there is a resistance. A conflict is set
up between what is "right", what has brought the seeker this far on
the path, and what the clearer intellect and heart begins to sense
will truly bring liberation. And the old path begins to dissolve
with the additional clarity brought about by clearing the heart and
intellect, so that what was previously "right" begins to appear less
substantial. And yet, it is ALL the seeker has at this point! Those
precious boundaries! What conflict! All that is needed next is a
decision to continue. That's it. Just the decision to continue the
practice. period. Once the decision is made to continue, a clearer
head and heart will show the seeker the new way to go, making what
was "right" of less consequence, and leading to a new, personal way
of operating, away from the intellectual signposts previously
associated with the technique, into a new direction, made anew, the
beginning of an integration of the clearer intellect and heart with
the reality of being here now, and dealing with life as it presents
itself. Away from the previous framework of "higher states of
consciousness" and "spiritual growth" and all of the thoughts,
feelings and language of the previous path. On into real life, as it
is presented. No more spiritual path. Daily life continues, total
freedom continues.
