In fact, while I suspect that it IS the case that the QT file format is 
superior to what MS was 
pushing at that time, it is almost certain that other factors contributed to 
the decision to 
use QT over MS's offering besides technical issues (i.e, tossing Apple a bone 
while denying 
MS even more of a monopoly over the industry).
