Sometimes getting ahead in life is all about who you know. In the
latest short film from Fairfield native Zachary Sluser, an ambitious
young man and his wife attend a dinner party at a wealthy
businessman's home in hopes of raising money for a project.
During the course of "Who You Know," "the evening takes an
unexpected turn, and [the man] must decide what's more important -
his integrity or his aspirations," according to director and producer
Sluser.
Sluser will be hosting a special viewing of "Who You Know" at 8
p.m. Friday at Morning Star Studio to raise money for film festival
entry fees and DVD production.
The film will be followed by a question-and-answer session with
the film makers, including Fairfield natives Sluser, producer
Jonathan Lynch and cinematographer Jonathon Narducci, as well as
producer Sarah Utterback, who is an Iowa native and played Nurse
Olivia on "Grey's Anatomy."
The question-and-answer session will be followed by a screening
of "The Retreat," which won best actor and best director of a short
film at the Wild Rose Film Festival in Des Moines.
According to Sluser, "The Retreat" is a "comedic, meditative
fable that takes a look at alternative spirituality."
