I wish I'd saved a chart I saw in, I believe, the New York Times, not long ago, which showed American brands surpassing everyone else for quality. They weren't consistent, though. Some brands were at the top of the list and others lagged. I believe Buick was way up there. I was surprised at how low Mercedes scored. Otherwise I'm sorry - I cannot recall any details regarding specific brands or the the testing sponsor. The point was not that American cars are coming back, but that they *are* back - which makes all the more painful our other competitive weaknesses.
